There comes a time in the life of a man when he reaches a point where God is ready to change his life altogether. I call it the cross path in destiny, where God calls you to the place in which He has called you to be and to operate.
It’s a set appointed time when God gives you a call to live a life in which he has predestined in Christ for you [Ephesians 2 vs 10]. The bible says …. When the fullness of the time was come.. [Galatians 4 vs 4]. So it is in the life of a man; there is a time when you reach your point of crossing. When your destiny is decided by a path you are about to choose.
Exodus 3 vs 5 - 7
5 And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.
6 Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God.
7 And the LORD said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows;

It so happened in the life of Moses. Moses had many phases in his life, he was once a baby crying in the river, hidden from the mass executions happening in the Israeli camp, he became part of the royal family, being taught and becoming eloquent in the Egyptian culture and political landscape. He became a fugitive, running away from Pharaoh for he had slain an Egyptian in defence of one of his people. He became a sheppard married and had children in a foreign land. But in Exodus 3, we see that when the fullness of time had come, God called unto Moses.
I want you to notice that in Exodus 2 vs 11–15, what led Moses to flee from Pharaoh was that he slew a man in defense of his people, there was a burning desire in Moses to see his people free and not to be oppressed. However, that was not the fullness of time.
vs 5
When the time came, God called unto Moses, “put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground.” When God called Moses to his destiny, he had to create an environment for his turning point. The Lord changed this mountain and appeared in a burning bush, making it a holy ground. When God calls you to your destiny, he demands you to be barefoot. It’s your very mode of lifestyle that God challenges. This was to signify a new walk, one that didn’t rely on the protection of mere leather shoes but that of a holy environment which God was ushering him to enter.
vs 6
“I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” God introduced himself to Abraham. Notice how God works, the place of destiny in which God is about to take you too, only is possible when you know him. When God calls you, after changing your environment he is going to introduce himself to you. Your destiny rests on your knowledge of him. Without him, you cannot do nothing [John 4 vs 4 -5]. For Moses to be successful, God had to introduce himself to Moses. God had to teach him his ways [Psalms 103 vs 7].
vs 7
And the third note is that when God called Moses, he had a specific mission for him. “….I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters” God’s people in Egypt were crying to God because of how they were being treated by their taskmasters. When God heard their cries, God thought of a solution to redeem them, to save them from their hardships, and God had an answer, It was Moses. That never ceases to amaze me, that Moses was actually an answer for a whole nation’s cry. God’s destiny in your life is someone’s prayer, a whole nation cried to God to save them from slavery in the land of Egypt, and the answer was a Sheppard in a foreign land, a runaway murder.
What qualified Moses for this task? What qualities in Moses did God see that made Him choose him? Moses even asked God this question [Exodus 3 vs 11], he even went on to try to convince God that he was surely not the man for the job [Exodus 4 vs 10]. God’s answer was simple, Exodus 3 vs 12 And he said, Certainly I will be with thee…. God’s presence in the life of Moses was a guarantee that surely he had sent him. Like Moses you might not be prepared for the task that God is calling you for, you might disqualify yourself over whatever reason you might think of, but if God has surely given you a mission, it will require him to be with you. Without him, we cannot do nothing [John 4 vs 4 -5].
When God meets you at the crossroad and points you to your destiny. It is important also to note that at this turning point of your life, the devil will also come and point you the other way, the easy path, comfortable with no obstacles.
Mathew 7 vs 13 - 14
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Jesus was teaching one day and said this to his disciples, strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life. The word strait is the Greek word stenos: which means “narrow” because it runs counter to natural inclinations. The root word ua the word sten, which actually means to groan. The path to your destiny is not an easy one, it’s full of pain, obstacles and challenges.

Luke 4 vs 3 – 8
3 And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.
4 And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.
6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.
7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.
8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

When Jesus finished his 40-day fast, when he was hungry, came the devil showing him the wide path and broad gate. Notice that the devil was proposing an alternative way for Jesus to accomplish his destiny. Jesus came to take back the authority that was lost in the garden east of Eden. He came to take back the authority which the first Adam lost in the garden and to give eternal life to all those who died in Adam [1st Corinthians 15 vs 22 & 45, John 3 vs 16 ].
vs 6
the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it. The devil was proposing a deception to Jesus, which seemed like a shortcut (skipping the cup of suffering). However, Jesus was deep in the word to separate the lies from the truth. At your crossing point, the devil will offer you deceptive proposals to accomplish the work that God has predestined you to do. Use the word of God to defeat him.
My prayer for you is you will be able to recognise this point in your life, when God calls to a different walk than that you were used to, May your be enriched in his word to be able to separate the deception which the devil will come with to you [Hebrews 4 vs 12]
